Thai Yoga Massage
I first experienced Thai massage as a yoga instructor and massage therapy enthusiast in 2003. I immediately loved it and wanted to learn more. It is the perfect bridge between yoga and massage therapy, and to me feels amazing to receive as well as give.

Thai massage is based on more than 2,500 years of combined wisdom from Traditional Thai Medicine, assisted Yoga stretching, Ayurvedic healing, and the meridian energy alignment of the Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Using slow, gentle rocking movements, the therapist applies compression with thumbs, palms, elbows, knees, and feet to stretch soft tissues and harmonize the receiver's vital energies in series of choreographed moves. A session includes compression, passive stretching (meaning the client relaxes while the therapist manipulates the body into gentle stretches), acupressure, and working along the bodies energy meridian lines to free up blockages in the body’s energy field.
Thai massage has its roots in a spiritual tradition, and its purpose is to facilitate healing physically, emotionally and spiritually.
This graceful art of Thai Massage is traditionally done with the client wearing comfortable loose fitting clothing on a floor mat, but can also be adapted to the massage table, referred to as Table Thai Massage.
This beautiful massage modality can be modified to any client. The passive stretching that is part of a session can be very gentle and adapted to different body types.
I have had clients report that with regular sessions they chronic tension melt away, feel their posture improve, sleep great, have more energy, and more flexibility.
One of my long time clients has had Parkinson’s disease since her early 40’s and after over 10 years of many forms of alternative medicine, she continues to return for Thai massage to keep her limbs limber, her body relaxed and open, and improve her energy levels.
I have also worked with several serious athletes, triathletes, as well as clients who sit at a desk all day. They report significant benefits to Thai massage, which includes passive stretching. Many people feel that they do not have the time or discipline to truly stretch and hold stretching or yoga postures for long enough to truly receive the benefit for the ligaments and soft tissue, so why not receive a massage that includes this benefit!
